Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies Policy

EDUsfera Academic Press recognizes the potential of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and AI-assisted technologies to support research, writing, and publishing processes. At the same time, we acknowledge the need for transparency, accountability, and integrity in scholarly communication.

Authorship and Accountability
Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, etc.) cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of any manuscript. Only individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions and can take responsibility for the content may be credited as authors.

Use of AI in Manuscript Preparation
Authors must disclose the use of any AI or AI-assisted tool in the preparation of their manuscript (e.g., for language editing, idea generation, or data analysis). Such disclosure should be included in the “Acknowledgments” or “Methods” section, specifying the tool’s name and version and the nature of its use.

Acceptable Use of AI Tools
When authors use generative AI or AI-assisted technologies during the writing process, such tools may only be used to enhance the readability, clarity, or linguistic quality of the manuscript. They must not replace essential authoring tasks, such as producing scientific, pedagogical, or medical insights, drawing scholarly conclusions, or making educational or clinical recommendations.
All applications of AI should be performed under human oversight and control, and the final manuscript must be carefully reviewed and edited by the authors. Authors are reminded that AI systems may generate plausible-sounding but incorrect, incomplete, or biased information. Therefore, the authors remain fully responsible and accountable for all content published under their names.

Data Integrity and Verification
Authors are fully responsible for verifying all content produced or assisted by AI tools. Any factual inaccuracies, fabricated data, or plagiarism resulting from AI use remain the author’s responsibility.

Peer Review and Editorial Processes
Editors and reviewers may use AI-assisted tools to support their work (e.g., plagiarism detection, language improvement), but not for evaluating or generating reviews. The editorial team ensures all decisions are made by qualified humans.

Policy Updates
This policy will be periodically reviewed and updated in response to the evolving landscape of AI technologies and best practices in academic publishing.
